Settlement’s Music Therapy Program has developed into one of the
largest, most respected programs in the country. Experienced
board certified music therapists assist children and adults throughout
Northeast Ohio who face a wide range of life’s challenges.

Music Therapist Spotlight
Yu-Ching Ruby Chen, MT-BC

Yu-Ching Ruby Chen earned her BFA in music/voice performance from National Kaohsiung Normal University in Taiwan. A Board Certified Music Therapist, she is currently a master's candidate in music therapy at Ohio University, where she studied with Anita Louise Steele and Kamile Geist. She completed her music therapy internship at Bethany Children's Home in Pennsylvania. While completing graduate level courses, she joined Central Ohio Music Therapy and provided music therapy service for Athens Community Music School and FairHope Hospice.
Ruby is presently assigned to work for The Music Settlement with adults at United Cerebral Palsy Association and with students at Tremont Montessori and Bethune Elementary Schools, as well as in our ArtSNPlay group and with individual music therapy clients here at The Music Settlement.
Music Therapy Research
Music Settlement music therapists are active within the professional community, making presentations at both national and international conferences, conducting workshops, writing for professional journals and conducting research.
